How tanning works
Tanning is simply your body's own way of protecting itself from the suns rays. There are
two types of radiation: UVA and UVB. UVA darkens existing melanin (the skins natural
pigmentation) while UV-B stimulates the production of more melanin. Besides creating the
desired browning of the skin, UVB helps to thicken the skin and develop an additional sun
protection factor which can be as high as up to 6. Because the CLEO natural has exactly
the right balance of UVA and UVB, radiation is the best way to prepare for a holiday in
sunnier countries than your own or if you expect to go to mountainous regions where the
effect of the sun is stronger.
